Students in Professor O’Brien’s Big Data For Cities this semester worked with data from Twitter, AirBnB, Google Places, Open Street Maps, and Craigslist. Throughout the semester they explored the data to find new and interesting ways that local municipalities could utilize this “Big Data”. Guest experts from public, private, and non-profit organizations came to exchange knowledge on how students could be thinking about the community in their current projects and future endeavors. Throughout the semester, students posted to a group blog with what they were working on.
