Course: Advanced Chinese 2 (Dong)

Abstract: This artifact is a a blogpost reflection of student takeaways from the Foster Grandparent program in the Chinese Advanced 2 course. Students met virtually with elderly members of the Asian American community in Boston to provide company, support, and practice their language skills. Their reflections illustrate the timely nature of their service, as the COVID pandemic as well as rise in AAPI hate crimes has left many elderly lonely and frustrated. Our students were delighted to play a role in connecting with them and fostering meaningful relationships through their language skills.
