Course: Writing Boston (Beerits)
This semester, first-year students in Laura Beerits’s “Writing Boston” courses interviewed community members at the YMCA International Learning Center, an organization that offers wide-ranging English language classes for Boston’s adult immigrant community. Students then worked in groups to write narrative profiles of these community members, who included current and former students, staff members, and instructors. This artifact contains opening “teasers” from a representative handful of these profiles.
