The Capstone Team has partnered with CultureHouse to work together in their upcoming pop-up at Harvard Square. The newsstand building located in Harvard Square has a rich cultural history, which the City of Cambridge has been trying to continue this trend since 2019 with construction and a revamp of its purpose. CultureHouse has partnered with the city to breathe life back into the Harvard Square stand, with the goal of creating a community kiosk that will serve as a hub for resources and engagement. The kiosk will be a place where Cambridge residents can go to find information about local resources and organizations, share their experiences and thoughts about the space, as well as advertise their own resources, art, or other relevant information. This project has the potential to strengthen the feeling of community in a very transitional environment, as the kiosk is right next to the ever-busy Harvard Square Station. With a dedicated place for locals, and tourists, to engage with the community and to share their thoughts, Harvard Square can be more engaging and accessible to all Cambridge residents.
