Course: PT6245 Seminar for Health Education and Wellness
This artifact contains a detailed description of a sample exercise class to be performed with participants at the Eva White Apartment complex. As a group, physical therapy students focused on working with residents to promote physical activity by providing a weekly class. Exercises were chosen based on the residents’ preferences, available equipment and resources, as well as what student’s felt comfortable teaching. This provided an opportunity to combine their previous physical therapy curriculum with their current service-learning and community-based knowledge.
