In the Black Women Lead course, all students conducted oral histories in which they interviewed women who were featured as part of the Black Women Lead project. After their oral histories, students constructed curriculums for students of Mother Caroline Academy based on their Black Women Leader and the lessons that they learned from the oral history they constructed. This is one of those curriculums that was based on an interview with Jackie Jenkins-Scott and her work in the Boston community. Jenkins-Scott was a force for good in the community as she built up the Dimock Community Health Center, served as the first black president of Wheelock College, and served as president of Roxbury Community College. Jenkins-Scott spoke heavily about the qualities she thinks are important to leadership and how she used education to make a difference, these themes were used to construct this curriculum.
