Challenging My Bias: What I Learned from Playing Board Games with Elders

At the beginning of my volunteer service, I assumed that elders weren’t mentally sharp and thought I could easily beat them in board games. But over time, I realized how wrong I was. Through each game, I saw how smart and strategic they were much more than I expected. This experience completely changed how I view older adults and taught me to respect their wisdom and life experience. The comic shows that shift from overconfidence to humility, ending with a genuine connection built through learning and shared time.
