On Friday April 12th, Professor Kathryn Schulte Grahame and her first year engineering students hosted 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students from Beachmont Memorial School to test their final projects. Throughout the semester, Cornerstones students have been serving at the Clubhouse network and the Beachmont STEAM club to gain insight about the intersections of social justice education and engineering. They interacted with students of various ages to inform their work and to learn about the communities surrounding Boston. Students created exhibits featuring Ms. Frizzle, Mario brothers, and Pacman covering topics like factory farming, the hyper loop, rising sea levels/green cities, and wind farms. These photos are from the visit and show Northeastern Engineers engaging with students, teachers, and families from Beachmont School.
