The purpose of this project was to get to know a Boston neighborhood that we would be serving in, Roxbury. The goal was to change our single stories about the neighborhood and see both the strengths and weaknesses that are in the community. Exploring Roxbury helped us to understand the role that Ellis Memorial(our service site) and the Dewitt Center plays in the community. Through this project our group was interested to discover the various historical developments of such a unique, diverse community.
