Americans across the country say they do not receive enough good news in their day-to-day lives. In such a divided political climate, it’s not hard to believe. Even in a city like Boston, where voting patterns are deep blue and the city’s identity is similar from neighborhood to neighborhood, the stresses of Boston politics can be intense. Our 12 students looked to combat this issue and identify one changemaker each that does good for the community. Each of these changemakers are either linked to progressive organizations, giving back, fundraising, advocating or running for office. They are directly aligned with the digital magazine’s mission where they were published. The Scope is an experimental outlet that covers social justice issues throughout Boston, telling stories of justice, hope and resilience.
