Navigating the DRC: A Guide for NEU Students

  • Publication date December 16, 2022

Course: ENGW3315 Interdisciplinary Advanced Writing in the Disciplines

This project was completed in collaboration with the campus club Diversability as part of a Visibility Campaign. The students spoke to the Diversability leadership team to learn the needs of the club and came to the conclusion that a guide would be helpful in covering some of the common problems faced by Northeastern’s disabled student population. This zine is intended to help students navigate Northeastern’s Disability Resource Center. It has been designed with accessibility in mind, using a color palette, formatting, and content that follow accessibility guidelines. This zine was presented in our class, and Diversability is working on having this zine available as a booklet for people visiting the DRC. This project is an excellent example of the collaboration between the students and the community partner to meet shared goals, as well as create a product that has the potential for wide-ranging impact across Northeastern’s campus.
